I'm Friends With the DJ
Episode 12 - DJ Geovanni Pacheco
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Geo’s story starts the way a lot of real DJ careers actually start: not with a headline slot, but with obsession, long nights, and a kitchen setup that turns into a practice room. We’re on location at Heat Night Club talking about how he moved through Florida and Texas, learned the basics on family gear, and then found the kind of electric dance nights that make you go all in. If you’re into EDM, techno, circuit energy, and Latin club culture, you’ll hear exactly how those worlds collide in his sound.
We dig into where creativity comes from when you’re not trying to copy anyone. Geo connects his music production to growing up Spanish-first, feeling out of place, and letting radio pop become a lifeline. That same “sing your heart out” pop nostalgia now shows up in his own tracks, flipped into heavier club weapons he calls “techno cha cha,” a signature that stays lyrical, fun, and dark enough to hit hard on a packed dance floor. He also shares why he avoids chasing whatever a big brand says is “the” sound, and how staying true while still adapting is the difference between getting booked and getting remembered.
Then we get honest about the business: mentorship, major lineups, and the reality that the industry can undervalue you if you don’t know your worth. Geo talks about learning from icons like Nina Flowers, shouting out the people who backed him early, and why keeping a full-time insurance career gave him freedom, stability, and leverage. We close with what’s next: bigger Pride goals, a growing media team, and the mindset shift from waiting to be picked to making the outreach yourself. Why am I friends with the DJ? Because life is more fun when you’re friends with the DJ.
Live From Heat Night Club
This is our friends with a DJ. Okay, and we are back. We are on location at Heat Night Club. Um, and I am, of course, with a very good friend of mine here with Gio, who I've known for several years now. And I met him initially, he was playing at a pool party, and it was just the sound, the beats, the hard music that we all live and die for. So I am here with Gio. Hi. You're welcome. Thank you for coming. Thank you for having me, baby. Absolutely, a long time coming. We've been talking about this for a while now. And so, tell me, tell us, Gio, what made you want to become a DJ? How'd you get started? Start with up. Okay, yeah, sorry, so um, so I used to live in Florida, right? I moved here uh because my parents were tired, and um I moved here originally to the Valley, 956. Shout out, yes, yes, North McCallan, thank you. Stephanie knows No, I moved to the Valley and um I was in Florida, I was just such a city boy, right? And um I DJ'd you know Mexican music first, like Pumbia, uh Salsa, bachata merengue, uh Latin music, and then like at Mexican, like Insanieras and stuff as a hobby with family. Right. So I knew how to work my way around like a board, but not like some high-tech stuff like now, right? And um I moved to Houston because that the valley was um a little bit slow paced sometimes for me, right? Um nothing against that though, but love it. But it is slow. I go back every holiday. I go back every holiday, I need to see my family all the time, but um no, yeah, I moved to Houston and then I wandered into you know an electric dance night, uh Houston Pride, and it's been like history ever since, you know? Um I I got into uh relationship seriously with my partner now for five years, and um he's the one that kind of pushed me to be a DJ because uh I was just working non-stop, you know, day to day, just getting drunk every weekend, spending money on alcohol, you know, really bad visios, uh necio.
How Gio Started DJing
We've all been there, we've all done that uh still there. No, but um, yeah, no, just got a got a board for me and um started DJing in my house, my kitchen, literally my kitchen. Yeah, and then you know started making some really good friends, and then I um I came to San Antonio for a dance night here too. And I met Rudy and Jesse, and um, you know, they they really were the ones that kind of like gave me a good push, you know. And I DJ'd for uh Rudy's birthday weekend, he has this huge weekend every year, right? And it was at his pool party, and that's where I met you. That's where I met you the first time. Yeah, that was it was the pink party. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I remember you were just dancing the house. You was living, baby. You live. You did it. You did it, you made me. I couldn't stop. I was like, I was like, ooh, it was my first time really DJing at a pool party, so I didn't know much, right? So I'm just like, I'm gonna just give him what I know and what I like, and um, you know, very organic, just mean, you know, um Mexican, obviously. Yeah, and I kind of stay true to what I like and obviously evolving with time and just being you know, always uh like super, super uh fangirl to all the DJs that I meet. Like I love exploring all kinds of music and just like listening to everyone's set. Um because like if you're up there, I feel like the artist, you earn your spot. So like regardless of what you're playing, like that's your moment. And like I I love like just getting to experience everybody's moment, you know what I mean? Right. Just like being in that crowd. Because I'm a I'm a party girl before I'm a DJ. Right. Like I always remember that. Right. Always that. Oh, party boy, right, right. All inclusive. Right, right, right. Put a party they. Yeah, they, yes, them, baby. Them. Yes, a party them, exactly. No, you know, and you know, you're so young and so talented, and you know, you produce a lot of your own stuff as well. Yeah. So I mean, tell me, like, how do you find that that inspiration? Like, what what creates that? Like, so like to be honest with you, a lot of the music that I make nowadays, currently, right, is music that stems from when I was a little kid. So I grew up in a very like uh conservative, you know, predominantly American area. Uh I was like one of like 10 Hispanic boys in my elementary school, right? So I was always, I don't want to say segregated, because at that time I didn't know like, you know, what that was, but I was always like, you know, put in
Childhood Pop And Techno Cha Cha
like special ed classes doing my English, right? Um Spanish is my first language. So like the only thing I really knew was just music. Because, you know, when you're in class, in those classes, they take you know take your time working on stuff. Right. So the teacher would let us listen to music all the time, and she would play like her radio, and it was just like, you know, classic, like Maria Carey, Nelly Fertado, you know, like your big Britney Spears 90s Bragg Street Boys. Yeah. I grew up on that, you know, like I'm very like one of those. So um, like that music always kind of stuck with me. And um now that I'm learning and like I've had I've been lucky enough to meet people that have kind of guided me in that path, um, uh to be organic and like bring back what really like fuels you as a person. Right. So, like, girl, like I, you know, I'm bringing I'm bringing back like Danny Kane damage, you know what I mean? Like bitch, Green Spears, she's lucky. Like, these are just music that I just remember like coming home from school, like on the bus and just listening to it, like my little game music, and everybody else is listening to hardcore, like SPM and like rap, you know? And I love that music too, trust me, like I I get down. But um, like just those songs, those like really, really like girly pop songs, they resonate with me as a person. So, like if I can bring that like to the scene now, which I'm doing, um, and creating this like very beautiful genre of music, I call it techno cha cha, right? Because I don't like seeing guaracha, I don't like seeing like circuit, because uh it's a circuit in general, but it's like a a sub-genre within the brand, right? So, like I really wanna like, for example, Mark with DJ tonight, fucking amazing, hands down. One of my mentors, instructors, I love them so much. Um, he, I feel like I don't originated three walacha, right? Yeah, so that's like his signature. So like I'm creating mine and like I'm I'm building my own and producing my own, right? Yeah, um, and it I call it techno cha cha because it's a very like different twist. It's very like heavy and uh he could get dark, but like the lyrics are very lively and up there. So you know you're gonna hear my shit, it's gonna be like some very like uh progressive um like music that you'll always like hear on the radio, be like, oh my god, like not this song. You know what I mean? And you just like sing your heart out to it, you know what I mean? Yeah, that's what I love about it. You know, and and that's one thing that just like when I first heard you, I just I felt, you know what I mean. I love music and I love moving, I love dancing, I love that hard sound that you just always it's you know it's unique to you because that's one thing that you're known for. You know what I mean? And and and it's you know when it's one of your tracks or one of your like you're playing, or it's like you know, it's it's very unique to you, and and that's it's amazing. Yeah, you're really doing it. I pride myself in that honestly because um, you know, nowadays it's very easy to kind of like follow the norms and just kind of like um to be accepted, I want to say, you know, play what um you know the big the big brands are telling you to play. Right. You know, you go somewhere, we need we need this, this, and that, and obviously you're gonna cater to the party because they hired you for a reason, right? Right. So you know, being professional and knowing that being professional and um you know knowing when to adapt, but still making it your own. So like I that's why I love experience everyone's sound because that's you know, that's how you learn, you know, when you grow. And um, but I've always been very big about staying true to like what I like, right? And you know but also evolve. Exactly, and grow, but still be you. Exactly, 100%. That's awesome. And you know, so from that pink party for Rudy's birthday to today, where what what have you experienced, what have you gone through? Tell me about some of the major names that you've met, that you've just like gotten to play with, and tell me about that. Tell me about your journey. So it's crazy because like one person that I always like to this day still can't believe that like knows who I am, even right, is Nina Flowers. Like, Nina is such an inspiration to me, and like I just value him as a person like so much because his story is like that Cinderella story, right? Like, I grew I was like such a young I was in elementary school, I think, when like I saw him on TV, right? Drag race. I didn't even know anything about like I just knew that I resonated with Drag Race, so I'm like, well, I was a different boy, right? And I like just it was the only Latino pretty much that I recognized, right? Right. So like I started going to uh the clubs in Ybor City with Tampa, and like I I saw him when I doing a drag show, and I'm like, oh my god, that's Dina Flowers from Group Hall of Drag Race at Liquid, Tampa. It was like it's closed down now, right? But I saw him doing a drag show, so like I just remember like I'm like, oh my god, I'm from TV, no freaking way. So I saw him at like other clubs there, you know, and um over the years, and then uh I went to university, so you know, studying fell off a little bit from going out, and then here in Texas, I ended up coming to uh going to an event in Dallas, and Nina was playing, so I thought Nina was gonna do a drag show. I had no idea that he DJ, yeah, no idea. So um I remember like seeing him on stage, and I was like, fully beat, drag, giving us fucking hands-down boots, everything, and I just never heard that style of music, and I was like, oh my god, like this is beautiful, you know? So I resonated with that, and like every I just every time that Nina was playing anywhere that I could go to, I would like I've seen Nina in Atlanta Pride, I've seen Nina in um uh uh Purple Party, Dallas, um Florida, Miami, um, LPN. I've been honored enough to say that I shared the stage with Nina a few times, and like I consider him one of my mentors, and I can say that he's a colleague of mine now, and like a very dear, close friend of me, and that always is there whenever, like, you know, like this is literally one of the one of the boys to me, you know what I mean? And um, like he's been always somebody that I I can take to this day, like I truly admire, and I always fangirl for because that's like he's as humble as they come, you know? Yes, the most humble down to earth. I remember I went to um an event in Dallas, um, Daddy Land. Yeah, yeah, and um, she was one of the like final like for that night clothing, and she's she's a presence, yeah, yeah, you know, behind the decks and a full drag and everything. And baby, that is a commitment right there. That is insane. I think about the shirt I'm gonna wear, I'm like, fuck. But no, like from start to finish and then I go to an after party with um the Bear House boys, and Jorge Flores comes in. Yes, uh, and it's just like smiling and just so and I'm like, is that Nina Flowers? Because she took everything off, and it was Jorge, and it was like, yeah, and just open arms and hugged you, like it was so so humble. Like Jorge is just like, I can't tell you, like, I remember
Mentors And Major Lineups
at like after his gig that night, I went up to him and I told him, I was like, Can I tell you something? I'm like, you don't know me, but like I remember you from XYZ day. So I sat with him and we had a moment, right? And I told him about like who I am, and like at that time I still wasn't DJing yet. I hadn't become a DJ yet. So I told him, I said, I want to be a DJ, and I think like I'm gonna do it, but it's funny to know, like, you're one of the reasons why I want to do it. So, like, every time that he ever saw me again on the dance floor, like it's always like, ah, my baby, Michanguito, he calls me, right? And um, you know, full circle moment, like to this day, being able to be on the same lineup as you know, uh so okay. So I've been lucky enough to fortunate enough to you know meet a lot of great people in the industry. You know, I worked with Denver Max, Houston, right? Uh Marty and Mike at the time, and then Mike um created his own brand evolution, evolution, and um, you know, I DJ'd for Mike for quite a bit. Um uh headlined with him, you know, went to Arena, right? Or no, that's um Cancun, right? Yeah, so I did Arena with him, like insane. I was a headliner for one of the after parties of one of the main nights. Um, you know, very, very great, like experience, and um I respect Mike so much, and I you know, I still see him locally around and about in Houston. Um like uh my I have a full-time job, right? So like I uh I I'm an insurance agent. So like um I do property and casualty insurance full-time. I've been doing it. Job of nine to five. Exactly right. Uh about a 12-13 years doing that, right? Wow. So um, you know, I have my tenure and like I have a really, really great like, you know, a career with that, and I I value my job. So like I'm always gonna keep that professional side of my life. You gotta make your money to have your fun. Yeah, exactly. DJing, it's a hard start. It's exactly, yes. To not have like you can't live off of that beginning. Exactly, exactly. And I've I'm not gonna lie, I've had the opportunity to offers where people will come to me and tell me, like, you know, work with me, I'll manage you, I'll run you off, and or you know, take you off or full time, right? But I just like uh for a moment, there was a point in time where I would be at home like two times a month, right? And luckily I can work remotely, right? Right. But working at a hotel and eating, like being away from like my my partner. Right. That is just in my family, it's just you know so hard for me sometimes. Yeah, my mom's been ill the last few years, right? For people I don't know, like I'll be a little absent sometimes because dealing, you know, she has recovering from a liver transplant, and it's oh wow, it's been very hard, you know. Nobody knows any of this. It's just very like, well, you know, I've shared it with some friends, but um I always want to keep that I work so hard. My parents like pick tomatoes for their whole life, you know what I mean? Right. So like I know what it is to work hard for a dollar, right? Humble beginnings. So like I I will always like cherish that work ethic that I learned from them. And like I'm a like DJ is always a hobby. Like, I'm so grateful that I don't need to eat from like this lifestyle because it can be cons it can consume you, you know? And it's like I've been there, like, you know, luckily enough, I have some like my spouse, my partners put me out of these holes, you know what I mean? Um, so I'm so grateful for him and like my friends, you know, like Rudy, Jesse, right, my oz, you know, um so many, I can't even tell you, like, um, but I just feel like my work ethic and just being true and humble about where I come from and what I what I play and what I can bring and give has landed me like some very amazing opportunities like Houston Pride. Um oh, you know, full disclaimer uh 2026 or Houston Pride DJ, right? Right. So I'm one of their headlining DJs for Houston Pride. Amazing. I'm gonna be on on the main parade stage. Um I'm gonna have my own set. Amazing. Uh congratulations. Thank you. So big for me, you know, like Houston Pride reached out to me, right? That's huge. It's just like I'm gonna be in the parade, I'm gonna have my own little float, and I'm gonna be playing my ta-ta. Oh my god. I'm gonna have sexy voice and bikinis, baby. Oh my god. It's gonna be very exciting, and uh yeah, I'm gonna bring a big group of friends with me on stage, on the float. I just want them to shake ass, you know, and I want to shake ass too, you know? Right. But um, so you know, gonna do that, and um, I've done Purple Party twice. You know, play purple party my first year, DJing is amazing. Um I've worked at reload in LA. Yeah. Oh, bro. That that that we're cause. Yeah, but we're just in the marathons right now. Yeah. Um uh reload LA, uh amazing time, Alexander Miss Yu. Uh uh LPN, like I have a residency at LPN in Miami. Um that's like my second home over there. Wow. Um La Putanota, uh like you know, uh Ryan and um Danny have been like amazing to me, and they really see the value that I have in the music that I play. And um they like, you know, I I know I can always like count on them, they're such sweethearts. The Miami crowd is amazing. Uh yeah, those boys have a special place in my heart. And um, you know, Georgia worked with uh Curtis, uh went to LTO Pride one year and then another year for New Year's. That same New Year's, literally New Year's Day, right? Midnight, DJ'd there, and hopped on a plane at like six in the morning, right as soon as I got off the decks, and then landed in Miami at like uh 10 a.m. And I DJ'd in Miami, closed it out uh with Vicky uh back to back. Um same day, maybe. Like for like six hours. Oh it was fucking insane. Oh, and okay, I I can't forget about my girl Vicky. Like Vicky Kuba is like that is that is my mama, that's my soul sister, that's my second, that's my second ass cheek. That's right. That is my she's she's the one that I first place I DJ'd in front of people was in her apartment. Everybody knows Vicky's Vicky's, you know, her kikkies are the best. So um I really feel like I had to know myself with her and really paved the way for me in general. Uh like I can't give her enough grace. Like, Vicky is Vicky's amazing. She's my dear friend, and like just love what she does, and I value her. Oh, you know, mama, team, yeah. But no, yeah, Vicky's she's the best. Trust me. Vicky is like my friend, uh such a sweet, such an authentic human, you know? And like she's so true about who she is. I just like respect her so much, and like doesn't give a shit what anyone says. And like I just want to admire about her, you know? Like she really is like the definition of like an artist, like from toe to all the way up, up to the sky. Like, she's like hands down, like such a hard worker. She puts in the time, and she's respectful, like, you know, and she loves music and she loves to dance, and she loves because that's I remember at that daddy land that I went to, she was there with her whistle. Girl, wait, like that bitch, that whistle stupidest day, baby. Every everywhere we go, that whistle bitch still, she's we like her, we had her front row. You know what I mean? We don't leave that front row for a bit. Sweaty dying, don't leave that front row. Don't call that girl homie again. Exactly, exactly. But Vicky's amazing. And so through your transition of experiencing all those amazing opportunities. Oh, like, okay, one thing I forgot. I'm so sorry. No, Luxuria Chicago. Yes, market days. Yes. Oh my god. So with with Mark, no? Yes, yes, yeah, of course. So Mark DJ'd both weekends at the both times I've been there, he was DJing. So um, and well, the first year I went as a party goer, right? Right. I had DJ with Luxuria there afterwards. Amazing, amazing experience. Love them. Dinora, Jamie, you guys are the fucking best. Okay, like I'm telling you, like, love them so much. Um, amazing experience. Um, they were like to the T so professional, like that was a real put it together. Like, that was like one of my first real put-together experiences. That's what I keep on hearing. They really know how to put on a party with the dancers and the coordination, and with they got food, the theme, uh, they got they got finger food for the everyone. Like, well, who eats at the parties, but yeah, like they have breakfast sandwiches. Like, what the fuck? I love it. Amazing, like, you know, it was hands down, like beautifully put together. Um, yeah, a production I love me a good production. Love me a good production. Right. They know they they can do that, it's amazing. And um, uh, you
Day Job Discipline And Pride Goals
know, I was fortunate enough to like headline at during Market Day's weekend for them the next year. That's huge. Like, I still to this day I can't believe it. When Ale Alanis, you know. Like Adef. I mean, we love Adefaki Alanid. That is amazing, good, humble person again. Yes. And that's one thing about all the DJs I've met that I've gotten acquainted with, thanks to Rudy and Jesse. They're so humble and real. Yes. When they could be Exactly. Oh baby, I've met some. I've met some, baby. I'm not, I'm not, I mean, I should I say I'm like, well, like, whoo. No, no, no, no, no, no. I mean, I right, right. I just, I, you know, I feel like now, like, I've literally in this in this world, like, you know, I I feel like just because I didn't have the experience, like, I've literally been taken advantage of in so many different ways. And like, I didn't understand the value of what I have and bring, like the essence of like who you are. People come and they, you know, they pay money for your experience. Right. So I take my job so serious. Right. Like, down to where I study the equipment I'm gonna work with months before I do my due diligence, you know what I mean? So like I want to give the the crowd, like, you know, I want them to remember coming, right? Right. It's an experience. So like I take my job so seriously. And like, like now I kind of like learned how to work with a curveball uh a little bit, better, getting better, right? Be human, make mistakes, right? Right. But um every experience, whether it's been good or bad, it's a learning ball for me. So like, you know, I'm very grateful for the good and the bad. Uh, but like don't get it twisted, like I'm gonna come back harder, you know what I mean? Right. And but always respectful, never disrespectful, you know? And uh that's important. But you know, sometimes being yeah, sometimes being pious speaks No, sometimes you know, your silence speaks louder, you know what I mean? Right, and the let I'm gonna let the success of the music sound like speak for itself, you know what I mean? Right. Um, of course, and every experience is just something that I I value always, yeah. You know, and and through those hard times that you experience, you know, you have to rise above that, right? Exactly. So, you know, because I I've noticed you were everywhere for a little bit, and then you kind of like disappeared for a little bit. Do you want to talk about that? Like, what happened? Sure. So, you know, music for me is like the way to express myself. Like, I may not oh sorry, there you go. I may not, I may not speak, like a lot of people don't know me like on this personal level, right? Right. Like to this day, like I talk to people, and when they I get to know more, like I, you know, go into the crowd and start talking to people, right? And I talk to them, I'm like, I have to go to work tomorrow morning, you know, I gotta take a plane flight tonight, right? And people are like so shocked, like, oh my god, do you have a job? Like, right, maybe yes, like uh, of course, I have a job. Like, this is just a hobby for fun, and like I'm so blessed to be able to do this for you for you guys, you know? And um, like I really I transitioned from you know within the same company but different offices. So you know, I went through a really negative experience um with uh you know uh a prior place that I used to be employed with. Um, you know, it was not it was a very hard time. And you know, I work in insurance sales, so like, you know, it takes like months to really get up your earning your commissions, right? Right. Because you know, we gotta make sure the policies stay in force and like you know, if things get canceled, you don't get paid for it. So you know, it takes time. Right. Things need to grow to a point of like longevity, and then that's when you can get your payout. So I went from one place to another, like it took me a couple months to get on my feet. So um, obviously, you know, home mortgage, car notes, you know, medical bills, uh full circle moment. The bills don't stop. They don't stop, maybe the world keeps spinning. So, you know, you gotta it took me a little while to get my feet on the ground. And obviously, you know, the investment into DJ, producing music, working with producers, you know, getting collabs done, you know, buy uh down to you know, I make money from it, but you know, sometimes you break even and uh people don't see that side, you know. You know, negotiating with promoters is very, very difficult sometimes, you know? Right. Um, and you know, not in a bad way, but you know, they have their expenses and budgets as well. So you have to see it for them, and they're you know, right they're not being stingy, they just they deadass have a budget. They you know they pay for production, they pay for balloons, you know. Uh everything costs money. Costs too. The the production costs the menu, baby, down to the electricity bill, you know, like the water, you know, like it's you know, it all costs money, so like you know, I'm conscious of that, but I also know my value, and like, you know, I I know that I'm not gonna sell myself for anything less than you know my name that it is now. So because at the end of the day, like, yes, I love doing it, but you know, it's it's something that I do for fun, you know. So that's why I hold the value to it. Right. Um, but you know, I there was uh I don't want to say right after Christmas time, I you know, I just it was full circle. I just you know uh had some negative experiences in the industry and like uh really learned like that uh you know my me, my essence, and like what I can offer as an artist, right? Wasn't being valued. Um so I just decided to I don't want to say shut the doors, but just really focus on that professional um like career that I built as a like uh corporate America, right? Right. Um that is something that like you know, I'm like, okay, DJing is for fun. Remember that. Like take a second, get on your like, you know, focus on your your normal job, make your money, and then like when you're ready, come back. And baby, like thankful this month, you know, I'm booked every weekend. Uh, you know, the summer's gonna be very busy. Um, luckily I've been uh able to hire a marketing team, um, you know, working on my own brand. Right. And um, I I have a lot of great deals in the work. Uh that's amazing. A lot of great parties uh that I'm collabing with. Um tour soon. You know, I'm gonna launch all the information. Um and it's just like it's amazing because you know, I'm gonna go overseas, you know, like it's gonna be great. Can't say too much right now, but like no, yeah. Love the word, but you heard it here first. Here first, baby. She's gonna travel more, and um, you know, I'm just grateful enough to be able to take me and what I do to other places and just like share it with people. And uh, you know, it's full circle because I just learned that, you know, I was shedding myself in this like after hours main like like like area, right? I was like, I was being told like this is what you are, don't try to do anything else because like like if you do something else, it's like it's gonna be too hard for you to transition into like a different sound, right? So I obviously
Burnout, Boundaries, And A Comeback
I didn't really like I didn't not by anybody in specific, just you know, in general, by like you know, the ambiance, different uh like parties and like different like brands, different crowds, you know. I was always kind of like projected as just like only after hours heavy, like no lyric DJ, right? And like how are you supposed to evolve? I'm back different. You can't be stuck in one thing. I just didn't have the experience to know that like like you know, you can send your sets to like promoters, you can send messages, hey, how are you? I didn't know that. I just I really like it sounds so ignorant of me, right? But like You were you're a baby, you were virtuous. I swear to god, I didn't know, like I didn't know about like obviously my SoundCloud and stuff, now I know more, like you know, it's it sounds so ignorant of me, but like I just didn't have the insight. I just thought like if somebody wanted your music, they would book you, right? They would call booking for you. And um, like I've been grateful enough to say that majority of the gigs that I've gotten, almost 99% of them have been because they have reached out to me, you know? And obviously recommendations from my colleagues, friends, right? Right, and uh, like which I'm so grateful for, but now like because I've made the outreach, right? Like, I have a lot more opportunities, right? And I learn more. So um, because of these other opportunities, I'm like, I'm you know, grateful enough to say that I'm being able to build my own like party. That I it's not gonna be something that I do like regularly, right? Obviously my job and stuff, right? But um uh it's gonna be something that I do uh more so like a couple times a year. I wanna make it that oh my god, we're gonna go back. Like that this was fucking amazing, it was beautiful. You know, like uh I'm actually gonna DJ for um uh Houston in Houston Pride weekend, right? Right. Uh so the uh varsity is one of the newer clubs that was remodeled in Montrose. Okay. Um so Friday night, hurry here. I'm gonna DJ. Um I'm gonna have the headlining time, prime time at varsity. Um uh girl Anastelli, she's gonna be in Gay Days Orlando. Uh-huh. DJ Anastelli. Um, so I'm gonna be at varsity uh that Friday, Pride Houston weekend, full night, audio. Wow. Y'all gonna have me on night, baby. Wow. And uh that same weekend is gonna be that pride Saturday's gonna be a parade and whatnot, so yeah. She's gonna get busy, she's gonna get real busy. That's exciting. You know, I mean the growth that you're doing is just, you know, I I'm so proud of you, honestly. I mean, from the the full party to where you're at now is huge. That's so huge, and I wouldn't expect anything less because I saw the talent initially. I know what you were bringing. I already thought you were someone then. You know what I mean? I mean, you were, you were, but but you know, I thought you were already like someone who's been, you know, traveling and doing all this. So it's it's I'm so excited to see where you're going. Thank you very much. Um, you know, it's it's very cool to hear that and so nice, and you know, I'm I'm I'm proud of all my friends to see them succeed. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, it's it's great. Yeah, you know, and and hearing you say that sometimes through the industry you get some of those bad energies and and misdirection to try and squash you. That's gonna happen to anyone and everyone. Yeah. So in every career. In every career, in every situation, every scenario, every like, and I've been so blessed since like my dad is like such a giving hard worker, you know? Right. So like like he would give people the food, you know what I mean? Before he was. So that I'm like, I've learned to be that way. So like I feel like that's what's gotten me where I am, right? And like, you know. Oh, I forgot to mention about Antonio from New York, said that no amazing love him. He got me a like a gig in New York Pride. Sorry, I just thought of him right now. Love me, Bobby. Who's you? We love Antonio, we love, we love New York Pride, yes. So um, but no, yeah. So the going back to what we were saying here about just I don't know, it's a full circle for me. Like, it's to this day, like when I meet the boys like in Miami or like everywhere I've traveled, right? Oh my god, yo, I didn't check out. I'm like, girl, like what are you who's that? Like what? Like, I ain't shit. You were like, I mean, I just I just like see that. See how humble you are? Like it's just so weird. It's it's so weird for me to hear people say, like, dude, like you're like big, you're a thing, you know? Like it's so weird, you know. Like other DJs, like my friends, like baby, like you're intimidating. I'm like, girl, what? It's a cha-cha! Like what? Like, Michael. Like, it's just it's so weird for me to hear that. Like, I still to this day can't hear like I can't say it like I have fans. You know what I mean? Yeah, fans. So weird. I'm a fan. Like, I'm a bad dude. I remember when like when I saw your podcast, like before you did the episode with Rudy and Jesse, right? Right. Um, like I remember like, oh my god, that's so fucking badass, right? I've seen a few podcasts like before. Yeah. And like, like, it's enjoyable to just like listen and just like hear people's perspective about shit. Like stuff, like things, right? Topic, hot topic. And um, like, I've had a couple other, you know, people reach out to me like about a podcast, right? Uh like two other occasions. And I like it, I hadn't talked to you about it yet, right? But in my mind, I was like, oh no, no, I'm gonna wait for AJ. Like, I know I know I know that I know that moment you're yeah, yeah, Shiva. No, no, I was like, no, in my mind, I was like way before, like, like probably a year ago, right? Yeah, and then like uh maybe six months ago too. I was like, no, no, I'm gonna wait for AJ. Like, I know I either I'm gonna reach out to him or he's gonna reach out to me eventually. We'll meet up and be like, we can do it. We're gonna do it. We're gonna do it. Yes, beautiful now. You know, I mean, thank you so much for saying that. Thank you. And

What are your social media? Where so um you can look at me on Instagram at DJ Giovanni Pacheco, or just Giovanni Pacheco. Uh SoundCloud is the same. Uh Facebook uh Giovanni Pacheco, and um I have a link tree, uh link I'm gonna post here soon. And uh I'm gonna actually start doing um like uh videos on YouTube, uh documenting like my experiences, uh like my sets. Uh have like amazing a marketing crew that I'm working with, uh videographer, a photographer. Um and I have some legit shit right here. I literally have like a social media person, a designer, like and like it's a whole team I'm building, right? And I'm just so blessed to say like these people are like legit, they have experience, they've worked with the big names. So like they're really putting myself in the right direction just to like uh you know make it all worthwhile for me and like it's give it back to everyone, you know, like back to the boys. Because again, I want to the boys, I'm one of y'all. So like I know what it is to want to go to a good party, dance to some good music. So like I do it all for you guys, you know.
